This series focuses on the experiences of American Jews, as well as their contributions to and impact on American culture. Narrated by Liv Schreiber, it traces more than three hundred years of American Jewish history, from the first arrival of Jews in Colonial America in 1654 to the social movements of today, including first-person accounts, interviews, and profiles of prominent Jews as well as ordinary Jewish immigrants. Accompanying lesson plans explore the themes of immigration, identity, contribution, assimilation, discrimination, change, and confrontation.
